handmade slipware Tyg. 165mm Height X 170mm diameter (including lugs).A tyg is a large English pottery mug, often with three or more handles, used for communal drinking and originating from the Anglo-Saxon word for a drinking vessel. These historical vessels, common from the 15th to 17th centuries, were typically made of earthenware so i had to start making them at some point.  dishwasher  safe.

wheel thrown then decorated with various slips then glazed in a electric kiln.every pot is handmade and listed individually. sizes are appoximate and there may be some crazing in the glaze.

all my pots are unglazed underneath and have slip and glaze drips, finger prints, making marks, a pinhole here and there, scars ect - this is all in keeping slipware tradition and I love a pot that tells the story of how its made.
